Required:
Hook Size – 4.5mm.
Wool Ply – 10 Ply, Worsted.
1 Ball of Pink Yarn.
Small amount of Black Yarn.
Tapestry Needle.
Polyester Toy Filling.
16mm Safety Eyes.
WARNING – If this item is going to a small toddler under the age of 6, I recommend embroidering the eyes instead so they don’t pose a choking hazard.
Stitch Marker.
Finished Size: Approx. Small “Palm Sized” Loaf Piggy (Size may vary with yarn and hook).
Abbreviations:
Ch – Chain.
SC – Single Crochet.
Inc – Increase (2SC in same stitch).
Dec – Decrease (SC 2 stitches together).
FLO – Front Loop Only.
BLO – Back Loop Only.
DC – Double Crochet.
Sl-St – Slip Stitch.
St – Stitch.
Sts – Stitches.
MC – Magic Circle (otherwise known as Magic Ring).

Pattern.
Head/Body.
Round 1 – SC 6 into Magic Circle. (6 sts).
Round 2 – (Inc) 6 times. (12 sts).
Round 3 – (SC 1, Inc) 6 times. (18 sts).
Round 4 – (SC 2, Inc) 6 times. (24 sts).
Round 5 – (SC 3, Inc) 6 times. (30 sts).
Round 6 – (SC 4, Inc) 6 times. (36 sts).
Round 7 – SC 1 Round.
Round 8 – SC 14, (Into FLO of the same stitch – DC 2, Ch 2, Sl-St into 2nd ch from hook, DC 2), SC 6, (Into FLO of the same stitch – DC 2, Ch 2, Sl-St into 2nd ch from hook, DC 2), SC 14.

This creates the ears.
Round 9 – SC 14, (BLO Fold Ear down in front – SC 1), SC 6, (BLO Fold Ear down in front – SC 1), SC 14. (36 sts).

This allows you to continue with the body of the piggy.
Round 10 – SC 3, (DC 4 Bobble Stitch – into the same stitch), SC 28, (DC 4 Bobble Stitch – into the same stitch), SC 3.
If you don’t know what the bobble stitch is I have provided a picture with step-by-step instructions for this stitch to help you.

Insert or embroider the eyes in-between rounds 4 and 5.

Rounds 11 – 18 – SC 8 Rounds. (36 sts).
Round 19 – SC 35, (DC 4 Bobble Stitch – into the same stitch).
Round 20 – SC 6, (DC 4 Bobble Stitch – into the same stitch), SC 29.

Round 21 – SC 1 Round.
Round 22 – (SC 4, Dec) 6 times. (30 sts).
Round 23 – (SC 3, Dec) 6 times. (24 sts).
Begin Stuffing.
Round 24 – (SC 2, Dec) 6 times. (18 sts).
Round 25 – (SC 1, Dec) 6 times. (12 sts).
Round 26 – (Dec) 6 times. (6 sts).
Fasten Off and Sew Up.
Snout.
Round 1 – SC 6 into Magic Circle. (6 sts).
Round 2 – (Inc) 6 times. (12 sts).
Round 3 – (SC 1, Inc) 6 times. (18 sts).
Fasten Off.

Using a Small Amount of Black Wool, Embroider the Nose.

Sew the Snout to the Face, just under the eyes, I only sewed in the middle.
Tail.
Ch 11 Stitches.

Starting in the 2nd Ch from the hook.

SC 3 into each and every st to get it to come out curly.

Fasten Off and Sew the Tail to the back of the Pig, I sewed mine at the top.

His tail should look like this.
