Free Teddy Bear Curtain Tie Backs Crochet Pattern (Easy Amigurumi Home Decor)

Hello Lovely! and welcome to my Free Teddy Bear Curtain Tie Backs Crochet Pattern (Easy Amigurumi Home Decor).

This adorable teddy is a perfect complement to a nursery; it adds character and a little personality.

I designed it to sit on the curtain with the ties tied around it to hold them open, so that it looks like the teddy bear is clinging to them.

My pattern is designed to be simple, fun and beginner-friendly, this pattern works up quickly (I made it in less than a week while also living my busy life) and it also makes for the perfect baby shower gift.

I’ve made this pattern super simple to follow so you can enjoy the process and end up with your own adorable teddy curtain holder, and I’ve also included some step-by-step photos to help you along your way.

By now you should have your head and body with your eyes inserted if you are using Safety Eyes.

To sew your nose onto your bear, first place it just under the eyes, only partial stuffing it to help get its shape, then sew half of it on.

Once you have reached the halfway point, finish stuffing it, then sew it on the rest of the way.

Row 8 – (SC 2, Dec) 5 times, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (15 sts).

Fasten Off.

This makes your cute ears for your teddy bear.

To sew the ears onto the head, I lined up both of them, found where I was happy with them and then used pins to help keep them in place.

I lined them up so the top would be on row 4 – not including the Magic Circle row.

Legs. (Make Two).

(Stuff as you go).

Working with the Second Colour (Cream) SC 6 into Magic Circle, sl-st to beginning stitch, ch 1. (6 sts).

Row 1 – (Inc) 6 times, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (12 sts).

Row 2 – (SC 1, Inc) 6 times, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (18 sts).

Row 10 – SC 6, (Dec) 3 times, SC 6, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (15 sts).

Rows 11 – 20 – (10 rows of) SC 15, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (15 sts).

Row 21 – (SC 1, Dec) 5 times, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (10 sts).

Row 22 – (Dec) 5 times, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (5 sts).

Fasten Off.

Once you have your two legs, they should each shape and look like this.

Now to sew them onto the bear, at the bottom side.

I chose to have mine so the bear is sitting so that it looks like his legs are also hanging onto the curtain, but you can choose whether or not you want to have them like this.

Arms. (Make Two).

(Stuff as you go).

Working with the Second Colour (Cream) SC 5 into Magic Circle, sl-st to beginning stitch, ch 1. (5 sts).

Row 1 – (Inc) 5 times, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (10 sts).

Row 2 – (SC 1, Inc) 5 times, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (15 sts).

Rows 3 – 7 – (5 rows of) SC 15, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (15 sts).

Change Colour to Main Colour (Dark Brown).

Rows 8 – 19 – (12 rows of) SC 15, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (15 sts).

Row 20 – (SC 1, Dec) 5 times, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (10 sts).

Row 21 – (Dec) 5 times, sl-st to beginning st, ch 1. (5 sts).

Fasten Off.

Your arms should look like this.

Now you want to sew them onto the sides, in line with the legs, which should be roughly in the middle of the sides of the body.

Ties. (Make Two).

The ties are made flat, by crocheting back and forth rows and turning for each new row.

Working with the Main Colour (Dark Brown) Chain 41 Stitches.

Row 1 – SC into the 2nd ch from the hook, SC to end of row. (40 sts).

Row 2 – Ch 1, Turn your work, SC 40. (40 sts).

Row 2 – Ch 1, Turn your work, SC 40. (40 sts).

Fasten Off.

You ties should end up looking like this.

Now you need to sew one end to one hand.

Then with the second tie you want to do the same thing with the other hand.

This creates the ties that you use to tie the bear around the curtains.
